Is Erectile Dysfunction Ruining Your Love Life? Natural Remedies for ED with Caitlin V | EP 82

What if the real reason he can’t get hard has nothing to do with testosterone—and everything to do with silence, shame, and unspoken resentment?

In this raw and eye-opening episode of My Libido Doc, Dr. Diane Mueller sits down with sex coach and cultural truth-teller Caitlyn V to break open the uncomfortable reality behind erectile dysfunction. We’re not talking about pills and performance hacks—we’re talking about what actually breaks desire inside long-term relationships. From porn-induced ED in younger men to the silent, growing epidemic of sexless marriages, this is a no-bullshit conversation about how couples can confront what’s really happening in the bedroom. Caitlyn lays out the emotional minefields that kill erections—and the exact ways to navigate them without destroying your connection.

This is a must-listen if you’ve ever felt the weight of rejection, wondered if he’s still attracted to you, or feared that intimacy might be slipping away for good.

When Erections Stop, Intimacy Often Dies First

Dr. Diane: Welcome back, lovers. You’re listening to the Libido Lounge. I’m your host, libido expert Dr. Diane, and I’m thrilled for today’s guest: Caitlyn V. She’s bringing serious insight to a topic we have to start talking about—erectile dysfunction and performance anxiety. And not just for men—this is about what couples can do, together. Caitlyn, thank you for being here.

Caitlyn V: My pleasure. Thanks for having me.

Dr. Diane: Let’s start at the beginning. When something’s not working—physically or emotionally—where do people begin?

Caitlyn V: Panic. That’s honestly where most men start, and it’s totally valid. But it’s important to first rule out physical causes. If you’re struggling to get or stay hard—not just with a partner, but during solo play or even morning wood—that’s a sign to get checked by a medical professional. Especially since ED can be an early marker for heart disease or diabetes.

Is It Physical… Or Is It Relational?

Dr. Diane: So, if a man is fine solo but not with a partner—what then?

Caitlyn V: That’s when we know the issue isn’t physical. If he’s getting hard alone or in the morning but not during partnered sex, something is interrupting that “flow” of connection. Sometimes it’s unspoken resentment, unresolved conflict, or just a breakdown in emotional safety. And because couples don’t often talk about it? That’s where sex starts to die.

Dr. Diane: That’s so real. And for women, it’s easy to assume: “He’s not attracted to me.” We create stories to fill in the gaps.

Caitlyn V: Exactly. But avoiding the conversation only makes it worse. If you’re in that place, don’t try to fix it all in one go. Start small. Say, “Hey, I’ve noticed this. Have you noticed it too?” Then create space to talk. Get help if you need to. The ability to talk about hard things builds trust—and better sex.

Confidence, Masculinity, and the Vicious Cycle of ED

Dr. Diane: Let’s talk about confidence. Once a man starts having ED, the anxiety can spiral fast.

Caitlyn V: Right. It becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy: “Here we go again, it’s happening.” And that shame feeds the cycle. Culturally, we tie masculinity to mojo, money, and muscles. If sex starts to slip, men often feel like they’re failing.

Dr. Diane: And it hits women too. We internalize it: “Is it me?”

Caitlyn V: Yes. But men need to know: There are many ways to provide pleasure and feel confident that don’t depend on staying hard. And we’re all only temporarily able-bodied. Women know this—we cycle every month. But for many men, the first change they notice is their penis not cooperating—and it shakes their identity.

The Danger of Skipping the Deeper Work

Dr. Diane: What about meds? The little blue pill?

Caitlyn V: PDE5 inhibitors like Viagra are helpful, but they don’t give you an erection—they just help keep one. If your brain isn’t on board, the pill won’t work. And doctors often skip the emotional or relational side. That’s a huge gap.

Dr. Diane: And there are so many “solutions” out there—GainsWave, P-Shots, PRP…

Caitlyn V: Some of those work in specific cases. But they’re expensive, overhyped, and often exploit shame. Before spending thousands, start with natural remedies for ED—stress reduction, honest communication, real connection, lifestyle changes. Then work with a qualified coach if needed.

Introducing the Hard As You Want Course

Dr. Diane: Tell us about your course, Hard As You Want.

Caitlyn V: It’s the culmination of my work with men over the last decade. We look at ED holistically—physical, emotional, mental, relational, even spiritual. You get a checklist for your doctor, plus exercises and tools to track what’s really going on. I created it because I identified 45 different root causes of ED in my work—and most men are only ever told about one or two.

Dr. Diane: That’s powerful. So thorough. Thank you for sharing that.

Caitlyn V: Thank you for giving this topic real airtime.

Dr. Diane: We’re going to continue this in Part 2—supporting women who love men going through this. You’ll find that and more in our show notes.

Thank you, Caitlyn, and thank you everyone for tuning in.
