Why It Matters

NOT ALL LUBES ARE CREATED EQUAL

The wrong lube can actually break down your sex toys or condoms — and some can even cause damage to the genitals. Choosing the right lube is a combination of science and what feels good to you.

It Can Degrade Condoms
Oil-based lubes break down latex — reducing protection exactly when you need it most.
It Can Damage Sex Toys
Silicone lubes dissolve silicone toys. The wrong pairing can ruin expensive products — and your health.
Ingredients Can Irritate Delicate Tissue
Glycerin, parabens, and fragrances are hidden irritants in many popular lubes. Know what to avoid.
The Right Lube Transforms Pleasure
With the right match for your body and activity, lube doesn't just reduce friction — it amplifies sensation.

Know Your Options

THE 3 TYPES OF LUBE

Each lube type has unique properties, ideal uses — and situations where it can cause real problems. The guide covers all of this in detail.

01
Lube Type

WATER-BASED

The most versatile and widely compatible option. Safe with all condoms and toys, easy to clean up — but it can dry out faster than other types and may need reapplication. Ideal for most situations.

02
Lube Type

SILICONE-BASED

Long-lasting and incredibly silky. Excellent for water play since it doesn't wash away easily. Safe with latex condoms — but never use with silicone toys, as it will degrade them. A little goes a very long way.

03
Lube Type

OIL-BASED

Richly moisturizing and long-lasting — wonderful for massage and non-penetrative play. However, oil-based lubes destroy latex condoms, and can disrupt vaginal pH. Know exactly when this type is — and isn't — appropriate.
